Oblivious to the true nature of the disease, the only remaining survivors escape to the sea.

Ark is a magical representation of a combination of animation, miniature settings, CGI and incredible storytelling! The short animated film is about a man trying to rescue his peers and himself from a deadly virus, only to find out the true nature of the disease. In great ships, they set off in search of uninhabited land. So begins the exodus, led by one man …

Beautiful and devastating, this work of art will bring you to overwhelming crushing tears. Director Grzegorz Jonkajtys creates a dark and cluttered surreal atmosphere with his ambitious miniatures sets and lighting.

On a visual level the movie was inspired by underground catacombs in Rome. When I went down there, I have thought, what if this is really inside of a huge ship with hundreds of people fleeting into the sea from some epidemic. The end of the story came later, based on my personal experiences in the hospital, observing elderly and sick.

Grzegorz brings his world to life with his marvelous and crisp alienating characters, and the story just does all the rest of the work!
