The film world is buzzing. With the recent announcement of this year’s Oscar Nominations, there has been much discussion as to the nominees for Best Picture.
The Nominees are:
Les Miserables
Amour
Life of Pi
Argo
Lincoln
Beasts of the Southern Wild
Silver Linings Playbook
Django Unchained
Zero Dark Thirty
All of the nominees are really great films, and everyone should make an effort see them if they haven’t already.
With that being said, there is one film some are surprised and disappointed not to see listed-Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit. Jackson has been know for creating great films, and his last large motion picture, The Return of the King, was nominated. I can’t say if I’m surprised or not, as I have yet to see The Hobbit.
I would have to throw my bid in for the Oscar to go to either Lincoln, Argo, Zero Dark Thirty or Amour. However, I had Hugo pegged for last year and it did not win.
I am, however, curious to hear your thoughts.

Dear Steven Spielberg,
Lincoln better blow the sh*t out of me cause after #DjangoUnchained I think it'd be a tough act to follow#OscarNoms— Ali Fareed (@Ali_Fareed) January 18, 2013
Not sure about the narrative device in Life of Pi • unreliable or not it's odd to frame story. Effects good, film not very #OscarNoms worthy
