In a post-apocalyptic American Southwest, a young man raised by a band of roving outlaws becomes responsible for a new child recruit

A pure carnage of violent fun! ‘A Killer of Men’ sets us in a post-apocalyptic American Southwest ran by a group of heartless outlaws. The twisted dusty style of the film reminds us of films in the line of ‘Mad Max‘ and independent film ‘Turbo Kid‘ with a revengeful plot line almost in the lines of Kill Bill.

There’s no room for kindness in the human heart

The short came about during my USC MFA and the goal with it was to encapsulate the different kinds of stories I wanted to tell into one package, the result being A KILLER OF MEN. It’s a mean, violent post-apocalyptic western, and it’s a whole lot of fun.

‘A Killer Of Men’ tells us an isolated story, but opens the door to so much more, and like many short filmmakers, Gregg Meller dreams of using the short as a springboard for a feature-length adaptation. Something that Gregg is already working on:

As I was planning the short, I was also conceiving the feature film version as something bigger- a story of a band of savage outlaws and their own internal undoing from something wholly unexpected: kindness. We’re now in the process of trying to make the bigger version, and this is just a taste of what’s in store.
