In the Summer of 1980 a successful yuppie faces an existential crisis when a Nosferatic ghoul joins his social circle and undermines his social status.
Ahh the neons, gotta love a good story that starts off with the neon glows. ‘Green Eyed’ is a film based on strong characters, but the film itself has a coiled character of its own. Set in the 80’s, a successful young man is obsessed with competition and loves to be throne as the best, that is until Philipe comes along.
Stoked with passion and obsession, Green Eyed has an enticing absurdity that only you and the main character can see, and that’s the beauty of it all.
Green Eyed is a dry humored deconstruction of one man’s hollow obsessions with competition, petty one-upmanship and materialism. I’ve always been attracted to the taking of formalized composition, beauty and glamour, and throwing in subversion through nightmare-like surrealism and sardonic humor; a metaphoric and literal display of exotic bleakness.
The rest is just held together with abnormally cool style, music and cinematography. The actors play it out fresh and will have you glued to the screen. Take out your red Porsche, and enjoy the ride!
