Frustrated, angry and infertile, Stanley and Elvira will try anything to pull their relationship out of the dog house.
Part one of a 5 part short film series on the comedy of matrimony entitled Marriage In Short. Marshall Allman’s ‘Make Like a Dog’ is a colorful film that takes place in the early 60s, where frustrated, angry and infertile, Stanley and Elvira will try anything to pull their relationship out of the dog house.
It was adapted from a 1962 one act play by Jerome Kass – Make Like a Dog has been in the making for 10 years. We shot in The Wilson House, a mid-century modern museum in central Texas.
While the fantastic protagonist duo blemish their role playing skills to a marvel, the storyline shapes into an unconventional matrimonial blunder and a dog house mirage. The details in the set design really brings the era to life, and wonderfully brightens the bizarre situation Marshall brought forward.
